2015 SL550 White Arrow

shows the removal of windscreen on A217. I guess between the two videos I can figure it out. However I am hoping that that small , what appears to be a button type clip is inside the bottom of car somewhere , I lost it when I first discovered the screen pulling away. No rips in screen though

Thanks

Many are using battery chargers/maintainers from CTEK, and connect them to the battery posts under the hood. CTEK is also rebranded for MB, Porsche, Ferrari and others.

There is much debate about whether the small ECO start-stop battery behind the passenger seat will charge from the posts under the hood.

My experience—I’ve taken voltage measurements during trickle charging—is that the ECO battery did not take a charge from the posts under the hood; however, my ECO battery was almost fully charged at the time. There is speculation, however, that the ECO battery will accept a charge from the posts if it falls below a set threshold.

After deciding where to mount the trickle charge what method is best balance of a clean install that don't get in the way or get tangled in moving parts?

Likewise at risk of being a complete dork what mind tricks are used to help prevent attempting to drive off with the charger still connected? Maybe I'll go as crude and obvious as having the power cord run under the car and loop on the ground by the driver's door then up to the plug on the wall.

If you’re considering mounting a charger inside the vehicle, or anywhere else, I recommend leaving adequate air space for cooling. The bottom of my CETK (MXS 5.0) gets quite hot and I turn it on its side when charging.

No, NO NO! Won't mount the charger inside for heat issues and desire to potentially use the charger on another vehicle.

I leave the hood open when I use the underhood charging posts. When I use the pigtail on the main battery I put my CTEK on the roof on the driver's side.

I use the pigtails in the boot (trunk) and tuck a microfiber cloth in the drivers door handle as a reminder that I'm "connected".
