Seeking recent ELW purchase experience on a CPO
Greetings All - took delivery yesterday of a MY17 SL63 ... WOW. When my wife green-lighted moving up from our E400 Cab, I found this Polar White vehicle in KY and just took receipt here in TX. Will post pics and update my Profile shortly. OK, so my question is I'm deliberating on the ELW purchase. My local dealer is quoting $4,600 for the 2 yr ELW .. which would add onto the remaining 2.5 years I have with the CPO Warranty. ?? Any recent experiences any Members can share on similar ELW purchase. Thanks in advance. Steve

It might be too late for you now, but I negotiated a discount on the MB ELW. My car had sat on the lot for a while, which might have been why there was flexibility on the overall deal. I first got to where I wanted to be on the car purchase, with no mention of the ELW. Once set and before signing, I brought up the ELW as a last minute condition and we came to a very amicable agreement on that as well. ELW's are profit centers for dealers, but deals can be had.

My car is an SL550, so probably not an apples to apples comparison for an ELW on your SL63.
With other car makes it's possible to shop around the dealers. For example, there are a couple of Ford dealers around the country that sell a full Ford extended warranty for much less than my local dealer. This benefited us with my wife's car, which she takes to the local Ford dealer for any warranty work. Perhaps it might be the same for MB, although I haven't looked into it with them.
