tilt wheel only goes back and forth, needs a chiropractor?
Hi,
My SL550 is having neck issues. I have it set to pull away when I get out and go back into place when I get in the car... but now it does not lower or raise. It can go in and out, but not down and up.
Any ideas why? How to fix?
Thanks

It's likely a just bad switch on the steering column. We had this once on a R230 and it was a quick fix.

Update, I fixed it... just took a good wack.
I read in another forum....
"When I got my 2013 SL550 home I had to go to the local dealer to get a few parts. My wheel did the same thing as yours. I went to the service department to see how much to repair it. The guy came out to my car, got in, moved the wheel way back, used his left leg to put upward pressure on it and slapped the rim hard with his right hand - It has worked fine ever since. He says users climb out of the car using the rim for assist and lock it up."
It worked, took a few wacks but it unlocked and started to work.

I had to wack it a few times. The basic idea is, the motor is stuck. You just need to nudge it in one direction or another. I wacked it on t he right side of steering wheel and top right side a few times and it worked.
