Does anybody have pictures of their SL with the OEM spoiler added? This is the part I am contemplating:

I recently "splashed" cash for a spoiler from the MB used parts center in Germany. It was an 'A' condtion (1 notch below perfect) and as far as I can see, a small part of the self adhesive tape will need to replaced otherwise, it is like a new unit. I got the very slim unit as found on the facelift R231. Now need some warm weather so I can fit it.
~250 Euro delivered - so I'm happy with the deal.

By eyeball and lots of measuring. It pretty much only fits one spot but there is room for error. I got my wife to hold it - marked the position with masking tape. Taped it down and stood back and adjusted till I was happy. There is a tiny MB logo in the top center of the stop light which helps getting the spoiler cantered (also the big logo).

Mercedes have a used/shop soiled outlet in Germany. They categorise the items by condition 'A+' is perfect & mine was 'A', still in the original bag but with scuff marks on the paint. I used some Klasse/Carlack non abrasive polish to clean it up and it was perfect.

2013 SL550 Edition 1 and 2017 GLS 550
OK - I’ve got a 2013 SL550 Edition1 and have been thinking about this for quite a while. I think I want the small spoiler. One of the things that’s kept me from buying this is the cost of painting and installation. Does installation involve drilling holes in the trunk/boot? From your comments, it sounds like you just use the tape with no drilling.
Could you provide the part number and perhaps a little more detail on purchasing one that is already painted?
