XPEL on Diamond White ...good or bad idea ?
XPEL on diamond white good or bad idea ?
I"m thinking about bumper, mirrors and 1/2 of hood. Want to minimize road rash and chips.
Diamond White is a pain to touch up (MB touch up does not match, Dr Color diamond white doesn't match so needed to mix Dr Color white with Dr Color diamond white and I got a good match after experimenting with ratios...BTW if done correctly much better result than normal touch up with a brush or applicator ).
So...Anyone have comments as to using XPEL over Diamond White....will the Diamond White show different under vs exposed ?
Any other concerns.
THANKS

I have had Xpel applied to 5 cars and it does not change the color at all. Go to your local Xpel dealer and have them apply a scrap piece, 1’ x 1’, anywhere on the hood. I’d bet you will see no color difference.

I posted to a number of Forums because Diamond White is not a color often used so I thought best to blanket the various forums that might have owners who have a Diamond White car.
Sorry if I bothered you but, I thought we are here to help each other.
I was hoping to hear if anyone who has Diamond White who had XPEL applief found any issues....maybe like fading where the XPEL not covered
I already got some GOOD responses advising to do complete hood not partial and with good reason (got this from the "E" class Forum even though my SL550 is the car I am considering for XPEL
So...why are you the Forum Police ???

My SL is Diamond White and had PPF on the front bumper. Do not know if it was Xpel. Car was in Florida for 4 years. The PPF yellowed and I had it removed when I purchased the car in June as a CPO. Dealer had to respray the front bumper as paint came off with the film. I did not and will not have new film installed.

Curious how the respray looks, does it match OK?
I have heard diamond white is a difficult match so be good to know if you OK with your respray, if so maybe I'll forego the Xpel and just have resprayed if needed

And that is my concern... with wrapping as well...
