Center dashboard speaker distortion
I purchased a 2014 SL 550 a few months ago. Love the car but it had a nasty rasp and distortion on some music that seemed to be coming from the dash area. I was finally able to determine it was the center speaker. Being somewhat of a DIY guy I decided to fix it myself. Turned out to not be that big of a job so I made a YouTube vid that will hopefully be of use to anyone else with this same issue. Go slow and take your time and you will be rewarded with a low cost repair without the hassle of taking the car to a dealership.
Cheers!

Very well done, congratulations. Unfortunately, fixing a rattle in a speaker of any R231 audio system doesn’t help the fact that the system itself, if it has not been upgraded, still stinks.
