Hello rmorin49,
my father just bought a second-hand SL r231, and I find the same issue on Airscarf: no led light at all when buttons are pressed. I see it is not a common issue, usually at least the leds stay on for ~10 seconds.
Have you solved this problem?

Yes, my dealer replaced the control unit. I think the part number is 172-900-04-64.

Thanks for the fast reply,
at MB dealer they connected the diagnosis and they told me there are no errors on the Airscarf control unit, so really don’t know what to do there.. just checked the fuses (a lot of work to reach them), but they’re ok

Sorry to hear you haven't resolved your AirScarf issue. I was fortunate that my repair was covered under the CPO warranty. I also have a very good dealer in my town which is strange as Hagerstown is not an affluent place to live but we have a locally owned Mercedes dealer that has been here for a very long time. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

I had similar problem with Airscarf but on E200 convertible (but as I know they have same control modules):
when I pressed the airscarf button, the light on the button came on and then went off by itself after a couple of seconds

I solved it by replacing Airscarf control unit that was in the trunk behind the trim
