AirScarf Not Working
Today it was in the low 60s so I decided to go for a top down drive. Tried activating the AirScarf and nothing happens. Anyone know if this accessory is on a separate circuit and which fuse it uses?
I guess a trip to the dealer is in order. Hopefully my CPO warranty will cover any repair.

Fuses 63 and 64 are supposed to be the ones I need to check. Trying to figure out how to access the appropriate fuse box. Don't see it in the trunk under the tray where the battery is located. I hope it isn't inside the car behind the passenger seat. I don't want to take off the trim pieces to get to it. Can anyone assist? I will look at the one in the engine compartment. Maybe it is in there.

I guess the engineers and designers at MB like to make things complicated enough that most owners have to go back to the dealer for something as simple as replacing a friggin fuse.

Yeah, I'm not too disappointed. If my servicing dealer says it's more than a fuse I'll just leave it alone. I am a little perturbed that the selling dealer didn't ensure it was working but it's my fault for not checking it.

If that is the case, I’d say your system is inoperative. I took my SL out yesterday with the top down, it was in the mid 60’s. As it got cooler, I raised the windows and the screen, hit the air scarf button and it became “toasty” in the cabin. I actually had to turn it down, as it was becoming too warm. My only complaint about the system, is that I hear a faint “whine” coming from the headrest area, only noticeable when the car is stopped. Can anyone else here comment on that?

I live about 75 miles south of the Canadian border and it’s not uncommon for the temps to get down to and below freezing here in the winter. The few times I’ve been out around town in the SL the air scarf makes the most difference in comfort for me followed by the seat heaters, windows and finally the wind screen before raising the top. I’ve not noticed any whine noises from the scarf at stops.

Airscarf is literally the most useful accessory for a convertible apart from the windscreen...
The Airscarf enables you to drive the car top down in climates normally too cold to go top down. In MN and also in Germany this alone adds 3 more months of use per year.

Due to fire hazard the system is monitored for temperature and other variables, usually when the system refuses to work it's because the temperature sensor is not working.

I think the scarf is amazing. In SC, mornings are very cool in the Winter and I always turn it on with the seats in the morning. It works so good, I have to turn it down it down after about 5 minutes
