Like a few members on here I have been thru a number of corvettes starting with a 62 fulie and the last being a 98 convertible which I owned for over 15 years and finally sold it with a total of 13K miles on it. My last muscle car which I sold 3 years ago was a 1970 Chevelle SS LS5 car black with white stripes god I loved that car but it sat in the garage. I always like having a convertible and two years ago I had an extra garage with two empty spaces that my corvette and chevelle had occupied and I was craving a convertible but something that I would really want to drive on a regular basis and more important something my wife would want to ride in she was never a fan of the corvettes. One of my clients called me he owns a local service/restoration shop specializing in german cars he did all my service and knew I was looking for something he says I have a car I just picked up you might be interested in a 2007 SL550 with 12K miles come over take the car for a few days if you like it I will make you a deal you cant refuse. Well it only took a few hours to realize wow this thing is awesome it had that right combination of sport for me and luxury for the wife. After driving that for 2 years I craved the later model technology and last month traded it for 2013 with 30K miles. This car is really a true luxury sports car. This forum is the most certainly the best resource on the web for all round MB information.

For many years during the 60's & 70's, I had many Corvettes and belonged to various clubs. When I got my first SL, a 1972 350SL, I would go to the club shows and when people asked about my gorgeous Signal Red/Bamboo SL, I would tell them it was a "German Corvette."

I tell people our Kia Stinger GT2 is a Korean BMW. Kia stole a bunch of designers and engineers from BMW and they had a lot to do with the development of the car. It is faster than my SL400 and handles about as well too. Compared to the two BMWs I have owned, it is certainly comparable.

If the Stinger had a little more room in the back seat it would be on my short list when the lease is up on our X5. We plan to downsize back to a sedan or to a smaller SUV. I am anxiously waiting the arrival of the Genesis GV70. I'll also be looking at the Mercedes GL43.

The back seat room is pretty good, but the hatchback design does not have as large of a trunk area behind the rear seats as I would have guessed before buying. Our 2010 E350 trunk held more, but the rear seats did not fold down to give the large area behind the front seats that add to the versatility of the Stinger's design.

Pretty sure the newer E class sedans do have folding rear seats. Would really like an E class wagon but the wife dislikes wagons. Time will tell.

My wife feels the same about wagons, even though I like them. In 2010, you could get fold down seats but it was an option and our E350 did not come with them.

Our 2018 E63s had fold-down seats. I think those are standard.
My wife also hates wagons and would refuse to drive one. I see a trend here

My wife USED to hate wagons, until I brought mine home. After she drove it once, she declared it to be HER wagon and so it has been ever since.

I can see why! It sure is a lot prettier than an SUV, although I must confess I find the Porsche Macan an attractive vehicle.

I love the look of the Porsche SUV’s and was going to order one. Then I drove one. Way too harsh of a ride for me. This wagon with Air Body Control and the Acoustic Comfort Pkg. is almost as quiet and smooth riding as my S Class.

two years ago at one of our weekly local car shows a friend showed up with a GT2 I got to take if for a drive I was quite surprised at how fast and how well it handled

I think the mid-year cars are the most classic an beautiful of the corvette line I never owned one and when I sold the 62 I had the option to buy 67 big block and I passed in favor of buying an 85 convertible and I always regretted that decision

2014 SL 550
Interestingly enough, when I spoke with the guy who used to own my 2014 SL 550, turns out he replaced it with the new mid-engine corvette...and hates it. He said the SL was so much more comfortable the he regrets getting the vette. LOL
