Convertible Tinnitus?

Anyone experience permanent ringing in the ears from riding in their convertible?
My spouse also has the same issue at about the same time about a year after we purchased the vehicle...we do a lot of riding with the top down!
At 55 mph with all windows down, I measured 70dB in the center of the car and 75dB at the driver side window.
Thoughts?

Could you speak a bit louder? I can’t hear you because of the ringing in my ears.

Seriously speaking all my friends who are avid motorcycle riders wear ear plugs when on tour.

That's a solid NO after driving SL's for 25 years plus
Average City traffic is 80db. I think you have to look at other sources.

Ringing ears? No, but I can't get rid of the smile I get every time I take my SL out for a top down ride

Just raise all (4) side windows after lowering the top, and of course remember to raise the rear windscreen as well...

You'll experience significantly less wind noise that way and it should resolve any 'tinnitus' symptoms...

My first convertible was a 1954 Ford. I've had 3 Triumphs, a Mustang, 2 Thunderbirds, a G37, a Corvette, and 3 SLs. All my recent convertibles have had custom audio systems with power amps so I could hear the music over the wind noise. I consider it a sin to drive with the top down and the windows up. By the way, I spent 37 years of my life as a jet pilot, first in the navy and then with an airline. I don't fly jets anymore, but I enjoy driving with the top down.
