SL/R231: Might have lost my mind!!
In a moment of weakness - my mind was made up. And poof, just like that, off it went to its new owner! And for only a few bucks less than I paid over a year ago. A fair sale indeed!
But all is not lost friends. . . After spending a year breathing the rarified air of a top down luxury sport GT, I knew my garage would not be empty long. And thankfully, I won’t be forced to leave you fine chaps! As the next garage occupant is nearly here!!
Remember when I said the next one would be Blue? 😬😬 I guess I just didn’t realize how soon that would be!
More photos to come once it arrives in its new home!

Can’t wait to get it home, do some detailing, and go take some long drives down by the Sound.
And you know what Stream? I freaking LOVE the ABC system on this! I had only driven the AMG dual mode Sport suspension in a 2015 SL63 and it was just too harsh. This standard ABC set up is amazing. I get it now! 🤪

coupled with the look of the AMG Facia - Well Done !!

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
The car was definitely driven, but well cared for. The part that I have to stare at (the interior) is pristine! On the exterior, there are a few signs of road rash - mostly small rock chips on the nose and a few scrapes on the chin spoiler. But nothing that can’t be touched up and/or repaired with the kind of obsessive compulsive attention to detail a former owner of multiple black sports cars isn't already hardwired to provide!!
As soon as I get a chance to truly clean it up (clay, wash, polish, and detail) I’ll be sure to post more pics!

Looks I will need to do a little rehab on the dinamica grips on the wheel, but otherwise the interior looks amazing.
I am wondering about white leather protector, though. Any suggestions? I ha e always been a Lexol guy , with Zaino leather in a bottle as a finish - but wondering if anyone here as any specific recommendations.
Took a nice 30 mile spin after I got it clean - the power is unreal. So happy I took the leap!

The white seats clean easily with just a damp soft cloth. I don't even use any kind of soap. What's interesting is my previous car was a jag with almost the same color interior. And I really only had to clean the seats when it was detailed. And then twice a year clean the ivory leather wrapped steering wheel.
The Benz white leather -- It's just a dirt magnet. I swear if you fart in the those seats they look dirty. My wife took the car to drop the dogs off at the groomers this morning. She carried two small dogs into the car and now the steering wheel is grey across the top.
It will all clean up in just a few minutes with little effort, but the Benz leather just grabs dirt and grime and holds onto it. A few weeks ago the wife grabbed the visor on the passenger side with unclean fast food fingers. I haven't quite figured out what to use to get that out. The visor is white and the material appears to be something found in the palace of Versailles
Oh My the problems some of us have to endure in 2020.
Beautiful color combination. I'm in LA. And its 100% guaranteed that every day I wash the car, I am guaranteed one compliment on the car. A few months ago sitting at Red light in Beverly Hills, next to Rodeo, a guy is walking across the cross walk. Stops talking to his friends. Looks at the car. Slowly walks past to the other side of the hood. Looks down the length. Smiles and gives me a huge thumbs up.... It was Adam Corrolla. Keep it clean and the compliments will never stop.

There is another, single stall garage to the left, but nothing in it. Still thinking of an SUV.
