2) 20x9.5 et 21

2) 265/30/20 Continental Extremecontact Sport 02
2) 305/30/20 Continental Extremecontact DWS 06
Lowered 1.5" on links
No rub and no fender rolling. Could actually go to a 315 without any rub in the rear - 325 would more than likely require a little massaging.

Capristo Exhaust
I'm in the process of installing the Capristo valved exhaust on my 2014 SL65. Mufflers are the easy part. Locating places for the control module and control valves and wiring them up is the challenge.
Install is bolt-on

I recently got the AMG cluster and transmission mods. The tranny mod added Agility mode and remember last setting. The AMG cluster mod is cool with the new info about the car and the tranny mod adds a whole new dimension to tranny responsiveness for non-AMG cars.
AMG cluster option for non-AMG cars.
Manual mode now shows available and selected gears.

Capristo Exhaust
Capristo exhaust install is done and working! Mufflers were a cinch to install, but control system was another story. Took a while to decide locations for the control box and solenoid valves and then to route wiring and vacuum hoses. In the end I'm happy with the locations and routing I chose. The control box is on the right wall of the trunk near the stereo amp. The two solenoid valves are each located above the exhaust tip for the muffler they control. Photos attached.
I'll post some audio soon...
Control box
Solenoid valve mounted on trim above the exhaust tip.
Closer view of the solenoid valve mounting.

Capristo Exhaust
Cold start sound.
Capristo is an "active" exhaust. The controller senses backpressure at the muffler and will open the flaps at one of two pre-set thresholds, or you can just keep the flaps open. The "Cruise" pre-set opens at a higher threshold than the "Sport" threshold. Pre-sets are controlled by a wireless fob.
The flaps operate using engine vacuum. On a cold start the vacuum requires a few seconds to build up, so what you hear at start is with the flaps open. Then, as vacuum comes up, the flaps slowly close (pre-set was on "Sport") and sound gets quieter. With flaps closed the sound is similar to the stock mufflers, which is what I wanted.

catless downpipes same for SL63/SL65 AMG?
I am looking for compatibility to models that I can potentially use as an option for catless downpipes for my R231 SL65.
Is the SL63 oe turbo exhaust downpipe flange 70mm - which is what is on my SL65?
Thanks

however mind the gas smell, might consider high flow cats. i see no real benefit other than top end gains for the price.

Thanks for the reference, however, I am well aware of the very limited offerings for my model. I am not looking to spend ludicrous money on custom anything - I have better things to spend my hard earned money on.
As I stated, I am looking for compatibility of turbo flange sizing for "off the shelf" downpipes for the more readily available SL63 that will be competitively priced.
Not asking for reasons why I should not modify, we obviously have different interests & priorities.

No rub and no fender rolling. Could actually go to a 315 without any rub in the rear - 325 would more than likely require a little massaging.

Since I'll probably go with 315 on the rear, I might want the tire to stick out a bit less and am considering a 46 ET. Do you know how close the rim/tire are to inside components? Could it all move in about 2mm w/o issues? Thanks.
