I just checked out current Edmunds appraisal of my 2018 550 and was presently surprised to find their set value (even trade in) to be much more than my lease buyout in Oct of 2020.

My lease buyout was $67K....as of today Edmunds appraisal $82.5 trade in, $84.9 Priv Party and Dealer Retail $87.8.

Even if Edmunds is inflated looks like our R231s are holding value.

Edmunds #s academic for me as I plan on keeping the car (bought 3 yr MB ELW when I bought out the lease) but nice to know if even close to correct.

All used cars have inflated values right now because there are so few of them on the market. In such demand that I have read of folks trading in 2 year old cars and trucks with modest mileage for the same price they paid for them originally.

Yep. I'm buying our X5 at lease end due to the high market value compared to the lease residual. We may keep it or use it as a trade.
