SL/R231: Headlights

2017 SL450
Headlights
I have a new-to-me SL450. It was a Florida car, so the headlights have some sun damage (crazing, some yellowing on the eyebrow). The crazing is on the inside, so typical headlight restoration (i.e., sanding) won't work. Has anyone with the same issue figured out a way to restore--instead of replace--the headlights?

My SL spent 3+ years in Florida with no damage to the headlights so yours must have spent a lot of time parked outdoors. If the damage is on the inside I believe the headlights are sealed and not designed to be opened. You could try googling headlight restoration to see if there is an option to have them restored professionally. I suspect new OEM headlights are not cheap.

Wet sand them 800 grit then 1500 grit then 2000 grit, keep headlight wet with soapy water as you sand it, use palm sander because just hand strength won’t do it, you need pressure, when your done spray with meguires clear coat UV protect and they will look new

In reference to your advice, I've used 1500 grit and Meguiars Plast-X with good results.
