19 inch rear tire size?
I am finding it difficult to find tires in the correct OEM size for my rear wheels. I need 285/30R19 in an UHP all season tire. Prefer the new Michelin All Season 4 but it's not going to be available until Spring 2022. Second choice is the Pirelli P Zero All Season and it is not available at all. Now considering the Continental DWS 06 Plus. I had these on my C67 Corvette and they performed well. The Michelin All Season 3+ is being discontinued but a few dealers still have a few in the sizes I need. What do do?
Added: Anyone had an success selling their runflats. The dealer installed a brand new set of Continental ContiSportContact 5P runflats on my SL as part of the certification process. I've only put about 3k miles on them. They sell for over $300 each even at TireRack. I hate to see them junked. I guess I could take them to a local store that sells used tires but they are kinda odd sizes that are used on very few vehicles.

Considering all the shortages going on in the supply chain and the looming new lock down on the horizon you may consider taking what ever you can get now and saving the run flats for later on. Not trying to spread gloom and doom but many friends in various businesses are going through huge supply shortages and see no end in sight.

The SL suspension and handling are designed for a larger rear tire footprint. I don't recommend it, but I am running 245/40R18 Michelin snows on both front and rear on some old 18 inch wheels that I had from a previous GLK350. On the SL I had to change tire pressures to 38 front, 44 rear to reduce oversteer with the equal size tire front and rear. But for sure, the smaller 245 contact patch is better in the snow.

I will NEVER drive my SL in snow and am searching for the OEM 285/30R19 size for my rear tires as this is the size I am running now and I like the look and the performance. Fronts are 255/35R19. This size is not a problem and is available in numerous tire brands in the UHP All Season category. Based on all the feedback on TireRack I am about to pull the trigger on a set of Continental DWS 06 Plus tires. I will see if a local shop can come close to Discount Tire Direct prices. They also offer a full 3 year road hazard warranty at very competitive prices on their tires.

Sorry, my bad. I have corrected it. I agree. Based on my experience on my Corvette I think they will be a good choice. Now I have to find an installer I trust to mount the new tires and get the damn runflats off without damaging my wheels.

I just installed the Mich A/S 3+ 19 inch tires on our 450 last week and am very happy with them.
Rather than worry about saving a few bucks, I would suggest that if you can find them to get them installed..supply chains are having trouble..... the reviews on them are great and they are a proven tire with a good record. We took runflats off.

Given the circunmstances, I'd go with the Continental DWS 06 Plus. With the Michelin A/S 3, which we have on 3 cars; SL450, Hyundai Equus and winter use on my 2017 Corvette Grand Sport going away, you might not be able to source them should a replacement be needed. If the new Michelin 4 series become available, that would be my preference.
I'm considering getting the Continental DWS 06 Plus for my Datsun 240Z, if and when the wheels I ordered ever get here.

Just an FYI. My car came with P-Zero's that someone put on to replace the OEM run flats. Quite good ride, but a bit noisy. I will go with a different brand when they need to be replaced.

My 1st choice remains the new Michelin All Season 4 and I may just wait until next spring when both sizes should be available. That will mean reducing my winter use of the SL but I can live with that. I am still considering the DWS06 Plus which did perform well on my Corvette and my wife's RX. They also are rated #1 on TireRack in the Ultra High Performance All Season category. I have a few months to decide what to do before the weather turns cold. The other factor is finding a competent shop to dismount the runflats and mount and balance the new tires without damage to the wheels as they are in pristine condition. I have had good luck in the past with my local Firestone/Bridgestone store and will be talking to them soon. Thanks for all the input, folks. This forum is a nice place to ruminate and discuss.

When I changed wheels, I went with 19” x 9” all the way around, but mounted 255/35 R19’s on the front and 285/30 R19’s in the rear. This was not a normal setup, but I phoned Michelin, as I was using their Pilot Sport A/S3+ tires and they said it would be fine. I also ran it by TireRack, the wheel supplier and the shop that did the install, all saying “no problem.” The result has been wonderful. The car drives and rides exceptionally well and I really like the look.

the tires are usually in excellent condition. I put them on Craigslist and they usually sell fairly quickly.

Ordered the Continentals from Discount Tire Direct. With my 10% Military Discount and a special $110 Flash discount they were a great buy. Purchased their 3 year road hazard certificates for peace of mind. Had them shipped direct to my local MB dealer. They will mount and balance them next Tuesday. I'll report my initial impression after a few days of driving.
If you know of anyone who wants a set of like new Continental 19 inch Staggered fit
