SL/R231: January SL musings, top down, of course!
Yesterday, we had very strong winds that blew every spec of clouds out of the area. Today, it was still a bit breezy, but a “picture postcard” day here in south coastal Orange County. So, I figured that it was high time I took my SL out for a run. This is a shot as I descended Newport Coast Drive, towards the Pacific Ocean, at about 2pm today. It was 71 degrees and just spectacular weather for top down driving. This is one of the very few perks to living in idiotic California.
When I think about what my SL450 cost me, every time I drive it, I am truly amazed at how much car it is, compared to what else one might have bought with the same money. Honestly, these cars were absolute bargains and now new ones are no more, until the much more expensive, completely different, R232’s arrive. Oh well.

I can only look at our convertible in the heated garage. I think we had minus 10 degrees as a low without windchill

Love the pic!!
