Boston to Miami 25.5hrs in my 2013 SL550

So my impatience got the best of me and I flew up to Boston Thursday morning and drove back to Miami. I have made the drive from NY to Miami a few times and swore I would never do it again. But when you have a beautiful Diamond White/Bengal Red SL550 waiting for you, you make an exception. Got on the road at 1230pm Thursday and immediately felt comfortable behind the wheel. The car is so comfortable and much quicker than I thought it would be. Gas milage was amazing when going 70-85mph, not so good during my stretch through the Carolinas at 100+ during the late night lol. Car ran flawlessly the entire drive, the only issue is the popped front speaker in the center dash. Will get that replaced when I get the amp installed for the rear speakers. Overall, I am in love with this car and can't wait for many miles and smiles behind the wheel. Next few weeks will be red calipers, muffler delete and a few other small mods. Will post some pics later when I go for my first top down drive in South Beach later today.

In one stretch? I hope not! Asking because I’ve been tempted to take our SL63 on a road trip but the thought of parking overnight at a typical Interstate highway hotel parking lot with that nice of a car has me scratching my head. Did you take any precautions on that front?

I once went from West Point, NY to Ft. Lauderdale in under 24 hours. That was in a 1978 Olds Cutlass Supreme and three of us were driving. That was when the "national" speed limit was 55 mph and before radar detectors.

I was the only one driving and Boston to Miami is a bit further then West Point to FTL. I had to stop more than I wanted to as my friend was being a bit of a pain in the *** with bathroom/need to stretch stops. My best was White Plains, NY to Miami in under 19hrs and even then, wasn't trying to break any speed records. Most of the trip could be at 100+ as there really were no cops from middle of Virginia to about Daytona.

Have done multiple 4000 mile road trips in the 911’s I’ve owned and never once had any concerns. Only precaution I ever took was to never park next to large SUVs or minivans, as that signaled high potential for door dings.

Yeah, you should probably stay at places that DON'T rent the room by the hour.
