Navigation Question, 2013 R231 SL63
Hi all!. I have racked my brains trying to change the map function to show the direction of travel instead of the map always pointing north. I have tried everything, any suggestions?.

From the Comand manual
Map settings
Call up the map settings menu
- To show the menu: press the COMAND controller.
- Select Navi in the main function bar by sliding and turning the COMAND controller and press to confirm.
- Select Map Settings and press to confirm.
The map settings menu appears.
Map orientation
Possible map orientations:
- North orientation (The map view is displayed so that north is always up)
- Heading orientation (the map view is aligned to the direction of travel. The direction of travel is always at the top, the Map operation and map settings
- Bird's-eye view (the map view is aligned to the direction of travel. The map projection reproduces the curvature of the earth's surface)
- 3D map (the map view is aligned to the direction of travel. At a scale of 1 km the map displays elevation)

Hi Gary, thank you for taking the time to respond. Unfortunately, I do not have Map Orientation options no matter what I click on. Im versed into finding things that other miss, but in this case, I am stumpted. I have followed all posted info to no avail.

Very strange. I just went and checked mine. Selected Navi from the top menu bar, the second option in the Navi drop down is Map Settings and the first entry in that menu is Map Orientation.
Sorry I don't have another idea for you. Very curious. I hope someone else can help.

That is very strange as others like myself with the same Command iteration have found the "Map Orientation" options without any bother.
Do you have the owner's manual?
If not it's available free to download from the internet.
Try looking on page 374 "Map Orientation"
The only other thing I can think of is that you don't have the official MB maps.

Mistery solved!.
Local Dealership charged me $1,750 for updating the ECU, TCU and Navigation. The navigation is now working as it should. I don't understand why it needed to be updated in order to work as it's supposed to, according to the manual. Thank you all for your feedback.
