SL/R231: 2014 passenger mirror problem

2014 passenger mirror problem
I have a 2014 SL550 with a troublesome passenger side mirror. The mirror has power and will mover left to right, but not up and down. I can hear is "clicking" as if something is stripped, perhaps. Any insight on how to diagnose or repair?

Try gently moving the mirror all the way up, or down with your hand and then move the switch in which ever direction you pushed it. Mirror pushed all the way up, hold switch in up position, or mirror pushed all the way down, hold mirror in down position. Take hand away from mirror and try switch in opposite direction. May not help, but it worked for me on other models in the past...
