SL/R231: pano sunscreen not rolling back up

pano sunscreen not rolling back up
I have a 2013 SL550, you know the manual sunscreen that covers the pano? I had it open for over a year, then closed for some reason and then reopened... and the fabric did not recede back into whatever hole it lives in... so its all bunched up. I am guessing there is a spring somewhere to auto roll it up or something. Anyone have experience with this? How can this be fixed?

I'm disappointed no one responded: I have just experienced the same issue although I'd used mine fairly frequently prior to its failure yesterday.

The roof panel around the sunroof is fairly easy to take off. Google "CKM Car Design" and find the video for installing a sunroof (.
).
Once that is off you'll have a clear view of the track and the roll up mechanism which is a one piece assembly. From there its either replace the assembly or fix what may be an obvious problem.
