Portable Tire Inflator/Repair Kit Combo

I am searching for a portable tire inflator/repair kit to purchase. So far, I'm liking the looks of the AirMan ResQ Pro+. Does anyone know of a different inflator/repair kit that you would recommend vs this one? Thanks in advance!

I was given a brand new 'Pittsburgh' and the first time I tried it it failed. I tried the power outlet in the cabin after getting no juice at the outlet in the trunk; that too didn't work. I used the MB compressor/pump that I had in the trunk and it failed to work, too: long story short, this 'Pittsburgh' job blew three 15A fuses (and needless to remark, MB doesn't stuff in a few spares in the fuse box(es)). So, whilst I'm not recommending a pump for you, sadly, I will offer this as a warning against this particular brand.

(it was bought with the best intentions, as I have found out, from Harbour Freight. 'Nuff said, I think.)

I stick with the German stuff. We have the Conti Tirefix kit but can't find that anymore. Now they have the Contimobilitykit
https://www.continental-tires.com/ca...ntimobilitykit

I trust this more for the simple reason that it is coming from a tire manufacturer. Step 1 is to get you to the tire shop or home. Step 2 is to know if the material damaged your TPMS and how easily the rim can be cleaned off the material. Some like to repair tires (not my thing) so cleaning the tire from the inside is also a consideration...

Bitbytr and Wolfman Thank you both for the information! I'm now thinking about going with a 20-v battery powdered air compressor only and forgetting sealant. Come to think about it, every puncture I've ever had, which has only been a very few times, was caused by a small nail with only a slow leak. I was always able to make it to a tire shop or place with a compressor. Plus, I already have DeWalt 20-v battery powdered tools with extra batteries.

I do just the compressor as well, but I also chase it with a plug kit similar to this:

I have one of these (about 5 years now). It is branded as something else. I can easily top up 8 tyres without running the battery flat. Charges the battery with a mains adaptor or 12v . Is also useful with the multifunction built-in torch (flash light) and has adaptors for *****, airbeds etc. Everything goes into the supplied bag.

Most units work fine. I carry one and also a bottle of Slime that has been tested to seal the puncture the best and will not harm the TPMS. I would only use the Slime as a last resort if adding air to the tire was not sufficient. The trick is that if are losing air slowly (e.g. nail) is to leave the nail in and just add air until you can get it repaired. If you pull out the nail three goes all the air quickly.

I have this unit and works great

I have the AirMan ResQ Pro+ for those times the puncture is more than a small nail. Otherwise, I will inflate the tire and repair it myself if the puncture is in the tread. Never had a problem using a natural rubber repair kit. I do it myself more out of convenience than cost.

In the UK a free roadside rescue service (Mobilo) that includes Europe, is included with any MB Dealer annual service. For this reason, I’m happy to rely on the compressor/gunk kit that came with the car for a minor issue (nail/ slow leak etc). I cannot recall the last time (in over 50 years) of driving I’ve needed my spare but, it does happen so better safe than sorry.

Mine is a “Von Haus”. Identical to the one pictured except for orange buttons and a different logo.

I’ve used all types of small (power socket) compressors (I used to do a lot of outback travel & camping in Australia, Africa and the Middle East ) and the little compressors like the one pictured earlier (Pittsburgh) and Von Haus do take a while to inflate a completely flat wheel. So don’t expect a quick fix. The MB unit is also slow. I purchased mine because it is perfect for adjusting tyres at home when they are cold.

For off roading I ended up using an ARB compressor that connected directly to the battery with thick wires.

LOL! Where do you keep the spare for an R231? (I know what you meant. It just sounded like you actually have a spare.)
