I had a SLK 172 350 for 3.5 years as a daily driver. Then I purchased the SL new in 2017, had that for 6 years now. Last year it did about 400 miles and a little more in 2021. Just stands in my garage so really pointless keeping it.
I do love it when I drive it but I like to drive with a purpose (e.g. roadtrips) not just a Sunday run around the villages. We also have a small dog that my wife likes to take everywhere but is not happy with him on her lap incase of an accident. I got the feeling (although she will never admit it - after saying that I should get the SL and not anther SLK) that she was not that keen on it. Dog, wind in the hair, not enough luggage, (my driving) etc etc .
I’ve had my fun & have no regrets sellng it.
I was please to get almost 60% of what I paid for it (purchase price excluding service etc). It cost me nothing except services, a set of tyres (rear) and I refurbed my alloys (corrosion working out from the middle) although I could have gone longer on both.

I hope you stick around even if the SL is gone! What else is on the shopping list?

Thanks. Still looking and pondering. Would like a SLK55 to have a play around with but worried it will endup like the SL and rarely get driven. I do like the extra garage space at the moment.
