SL/R231: driver's seat lost it's support
So, my question is: Can the driver's and passenger's seats be swapped? They look to be the same in my 2015 SL400.
Alternately, has anyone added cushioning or modified the driver's seat to restore it to original level of support?
In mine, the flat part of the seat near the rear of the seat just has no support; it sinks in with little pressure. The passenger seat does not do this.
I have the comfort seats with massage, etc. All that works fine.
Ideas? Suggestions?
Thanks, Joe

If you’re going to do the repair, it would be better just to buy the part rather than take two seats apart and still end up with one bad seat.
Does the seat make noise when you drive over bumps? Seat heaters still work?

Yes, heater and everthing on both seats is fully operational.
Rather than swapping the foam, I was thinking of just unbolting each seat, and swapping their positions (passenger to driver's side, and versa visa).
Both seats have the same features and connections (I think).
What of that swapping idea? Too stupid? I rarely have anyone in the passenger seat, except my wife, and she is small and lightweight! :-)

On top of that, each seat is has a software "adaptation" for that particular car, so you'd need XENTRY to run adaptation again. Unfortunately, It's not like the old days, where you could unbolt and swap things out.
its also possible you'll need to run adaptation again after doing the seat padding swap if the seat is disconnected too long.

Thank you for your insights - how did I miss the obvious seat belt issue? Not as bright as I once was.
Maybe i'lll just fold a beach towel up and lay it in my seat. Simple, but blocks the heat and the air ... oh well, looks like another trip to the dealer.
Thanks again mi amigo!
