SL/R231: Several dumb questions and observations, all in one convenient place!

2. Do the side mirrors still get warm when the rear window defroster is on? My first DIY repair on the forum was replacing the heated side mirror on my 2000 C280 Sport.
3. When the lane correction feature is enabled, slowing me down and steering me back into the lane, do my brake lights come on? How about when Distronic slows me down?
4. Is there a rollbar-like protection mechanism installed in our headrests (or elsewhere)?

I believe the side mirrors are heated. You can see the heating wires in the windshield, so I'd assume MB did the side mirrors too.

I've been driving for 50 years, and I'm more inclined to put the seat all the way back. I remember back in the 70s when you'd pull a trailer with a pickup, there were temporary mirrors you'd mount on the front fenders. Japanese cars had their side mirrors fender-mounted in Japan, but door-mounted in the US. It's plainly evident that the farther forward the side mirror is mounted the larger the field of vision will be, and, more to the point, there are no shortage of examples of Mercedes models that have the side mirrors mounted as far forward on the doors as possible:
Is that a joke? It's clearly LHD....
