2020 SL550 extended warranty

Hello friends, I’m back after polling y’all about buying out my lease. I couldn’t be happier that I did! It’s the perfect girl-whip here in Southern California.
It’s extended warranty time. Dealer is offering 7223 for 4 years and 8733 for 5 years. This is a lot but also it’s one repair. Having said all that, my car is 9300 miles new so idk if this is the greatest deal. I’ve heard about LONGER warranties but I might be mistaking the electric car warranties. Honestly would buy 8 considering how young the car is but the first dealer says 5 is the max. Weird as I read Zurich will cover a car up to 15 years old. What gives?

Just off the phone with a dealer closer to me whom I dislike very much, but they did cop that 7-8 years was possible. We’re about to find out what kind of wiggle room there is on Benz offered products.

I once had the seat malfunction on my 2014 SL550 and it was 7K just to take it out and put it in, and I think I got a new seat. Or at least new motors. So I want coverage for all the things, as much of the manufacturer warranty things as I can get. The retractable roof is the hardtop (big sigh it got retired) and that could be spendy if anything goes wrong too obviously. I def want one that will be accepted obv, even at the dealer and is know to pay out. I’m in west LA.

I had to get a new battery afree being out of town and letting it drain down and paid AAA which was probably stupid. It was probably covered. I never think of these things but I am now!! TYSM for your guidance.

Mercedes is great at listing everything that's covered; however, not so great at listing things that are not. Read the list and then ask specifics about what is not covered as well as specifics about what is covered. I.e., Is every part associated with the roof covered (hydraulic lines, wiring, switches, cables, etc.) and get it in writing.

On the other hand, BMW warranties provide a very short list of the items not covered. Much easier for the customer to understand and take a decision on.

Good luck!

Coverage sounds high, you'd be less than $5K for 4 years with our GWC/Easy Care Platinum VSC. You can send your VIN and miles to my email for term lengths and coverage information. Talk to you soon!

MB’s of all kinds.
How has the car been for you? If it’s been fine then take the $ and invest it and use it for something does happen. That has always been my logic.

There is the difference between an extended factory bumper to bumper warranty, a cpo parts and labor warranty of listed items, and an aftermarket parts and labor warranty and aftermarket exclusionary policy. If going aftermarket, you want an exclusionary policy, which covers the most and clearly lists what is NOT covered (excluded). The lower the miles you purchase the warranty at, generally the longer and the less expensive the coverage is.

Trenton above is the forum warranty guru so you should reach out to him. The salesperson is who helps you through the process with repairs as an advocate. These warranties are accepted at dealers.
