Just an FYI, a friend of mine who's a bigger car nut than all of us tells me that E-Class wagon/estate owners are the highest income demographic of all Mercedes owners, even higher than G-Wagen!

We are on our third E class wagon over our thirty five year marriage. I cannot imagine not having one. The last two we did were both CPO; the one I have now was less than twenty months old and had but 3.000 miles on it! Rather like when Streamliner found his, it was something of a surprise. Good luck with your quest, you will not regret an E wagon. I would comb the CPO website and see what might be near. Or it could be far, calling for a flight and a road trip!

On 18
On 18" wheels, not a great deal of options but just a rather brilliant automobile.

I found one about an hour away. Former loaner with 5k miles. Not my favorite color looking for silver/beige. Winter storm has delayed my opportunity to see and drive it.

That’s a beauty! I so prefer the original designs before they decided to go the “All Terrain” route.

Thanks. I want a newer one that can be certified. Also like the new I6 motor. The wife of our local dealer gets a new wagon every year. It will be available later this year. It is the color I want, silver, and loaded with options.

Well, bummer. The local wagon is Verde Silver, so not really silver but rather a greenish blue with a hint of silver. Well equipped but I think I'll pass on this one.

Friend of mine in Knoxville has this one in his CPO inventory, 68K miles, but a very nice example. Here is the link:

Thanks. I'm going to look at a CPO 2025 tomorrow, loaner car with less than 6k miles. Might be outside my budget

No wagon. Don't like the All Terrain look after all. May keep the X5 for a while longer.

I don’t blame you. The original design was just so beautiful, it was a shame that they felt a need to muck it up, just because other makers did. Oh well.

Totally agree. This is our third E class wagon, and unless I get crazy in my old age and spring for an E53 we will be keeping our pre-cladded version for the foreseeable future. As SL noted, it is just sad that MB followed Audi and Volvo down the fake SUV look path. The E class is just so pure of line in a long roof, and such a great vehicle. Who knows, you may just have one pop up!

My idea of an all-terrain Mercedes wagon is driving it across my yard.

It would help to have a couple data points like colors/mileage/year/price?

This?
https://www.lexusoffortmyers.com/inv...h6jb4ka541459/

Too pricey IMO but easy to lowball and see if they bite. All newer models will be All-terrain...

I don't know if the pricing is good or not, but 35k miles on a 2019 is pretty darn good. And the seats and interior look spotless in the pics. Nice car there...(it would be even nicer if the roller-volume-control on the steering wheel was available for the 2026's!!! ha ha)

Since both of our MB’s are 2019 models, I certainly agree with you. Those metal, knurled, rollers were just PERFECT! The haptic controls I had on my 2022 S580 were simply horrible. My current daily driver, a BMW I7, has a “crystal” roller on the console, but it is not nearly as nice and does not operate as good as the MB rollers. BMW has a “Plus/Minus” volume control button on the steering wheel, which is not anywhere as convenient or comfortable to use as the old MB rollers. MB had PERFECT in their roller controls. If they just could have settled for PERFECT.

Stream, it seems that I remember Ola said he wanted MB to be super profitable (understandable after German govt. fined them $1B). 'Well, if haptics are cheaper, then that's the way we'll go'. We don't need no stinkin' quality or customer preferences, Ah, the follies of corporate not listening to customers.
