As already pre-announced, here the official announcement of MM about the sales start in Germany for the SL63 (and SL55):
https://mbpassion.de/2022/03/neuer-s...87-09775-euro/

And as you can see different packages (like Premium and Premium Plus) that make it rather complete.
Three roof colors from the start and it seems only Leather Nappa Dinamic is delayed (to Jan 2023) in this area (Germany, in some other European countries no Crystal White and/or no Macchiato Beige).

And here the Active Ride control is indeed standard for the SL63 (but optional for the SL55). Rumours are the base price for the SL43 will be Euro 115.678 (UPDATE: it is official, can be ordered in EU as of May, in USA as of November).

HI TJ Dallas, i also placed an order at MB Plano today. I was able to order the 711 - AMG Black Nappa Leather / DINAMICA with Red Stitching but I don't see AMG Performance Seats (555) as part of my build order. It seems AMG Performance Seats (555) is delayed until 2023 but yet I was able to put in 711. i also plan to change my exterior from 993 - MANUFAKTUR Patagonia Red Metallic to 922 - High Tech Silver Metallic. Should I contact MB Plano to inquire more?

Thanks!

Good luck with your build! MB has kept a lot of information very close to the vest. I think it's primarily due to the supply chain issues that have been widely discussed, and this may be driving the pricing higher as well. From everything I've seen on this forum the Performance Seats and various leather interiors are all delayed until much further notice.

And good luck with MB Plano. I've found them to be very reactive vs. proactive, especially when it comes to getting information from MB and sending it on. I have a 2021 GLS 63 AMG and it took me asking a lot of questions on a regular basis to keep MB Plano on their toes in terms of production dates, shipping, etc. It was 7 months from my order to production. My SL63 build from an early October order is also 922 Cirrus Silver Metallic and I had to change to black interior last month as the 824 brown is delayed until much later in 2022 or even into 2023. And of course I had to inform the dealer's salesperson of the change as he kept telling me that the brown interior was valid since I got my order in early enough.

Did they give you an estimated production date? Mine is scheduled for 3rd week of April but MB still hasn't launched the US configurator or given pricing. Hopefully they'll release pricing this week and the configurator as well.

Unfortunately, I am outside of the initial allocation. I am the queue as 8; first production window allocation is 7 for MB Plano. That said, I am aiming to have AMG Performance Seats since I really loved the GT driving experience. Therefore, I might ultimately end up getting a 2023 VIN. Quite sad about it. Hopefully you will get yours shortly. No pricing guidance yet. The demand is quite strong and the dealer is now requiring a non-refundable deposit of $1k. I guess if I can get it for MSRP, that would be a great treat in today's supply-constrained environment. Stay tuned!

BTW Mercedes UK Configurator is up and running, finally able to reach the options in English!

Best,
C.

Be happy to get a MY23 with many major first glitches fixed and (most likely) all options available. Ready for Spring 2023!

It is now Memorial Weekend... still no peep from MB Plano on any production and/or delivery updates. MB is still trying to price their products despite seeing a global investment meltdown. I would think that MB USA maybe more pressured to increase sales when the customer purchase pullback is expected to negatively impact their product launches. I am quite shocked at the purchase experience from MB....

MB is changing their global strategy. I've mentioned this before. They will build fewer cars, especially the entry level models and concentrate on the very high end of the market. MBAG's profit is up 20% in spite of selling fewer cars.

We were told a while ago that the SL would have a summer launch. We should have pricing in the next 30 days

MB is definitely focusing on its profitability for investors more than its customers. Despite the fact that MB is pulling back from lower / entry models, it should still focus on building a positive experience for all the potential buyers on this thread. After all, we are the target customers - AMG model on the top end of the product portfolio. At the end of the day, high-end buyers should have more choices, more brand affinity, and more product engagement, if MB wants to maintain its profit margin. But what do I know... since MB USA is less engaging with its customer base given its over-reliance on its non-communicative dealership network.

Nothing about the SL ordering experience thus far can be considered 'upmarket' or 'premium'. The car was already launched...seven months ago. Orders were taken. Mrs. Smithee's car was built a month ago today.

Don't get me started on my 2022 E63 wagon order...

Consider yourself lucky; I put in an "order" back in Early December. It's been waiting for an allocation since then. As time goes on I'm kind of looking for alternatives; maybe seeing the real car will reignite my interest but at this rate, if an allocation for a '22 miraculously appears I'm gonna pass for a '23.

Did the sales person say they are expecting them to arrive at the dealerships by the end of June? Or arrive ports by the end of June? And where are you located for the 30,000 ADM?

I imagine the port, my salesman said he has only seen about three at the port so far.

I've just received the PO for my SL63. The current production date is Jan 2023, but my salesperson believes that this will be moved to Sept 2022. I had to change the interior upholstery color from 824 Black/Tartufo Brown Exclusive Nappa Leather to 835 Black/Macchiato Exclusive Nappa Leather as MB would not build with the former color with Patagonia Red exterior. Still checking on whether I can get a custom change to the original, but my only concern with the 835 is that the floor mats are in the macchiato color. I'll have to order the floor mats in black through the parts dept. We'll see if the build date gets pulled in.

^ 835 is not black/macchiato per the order guide; it is grey/macchiato and has been delayed for ordering. It would be news if the order is accepted…and also if the color combo has changed from the most recent order guide.

Are you sure the interior was denied because of exterior color? Because 824 is supposedly delayed for ordering as well…

I just tried to configure the SL63 on the German website with 824 and it forced an exterior color change with the 824 upholstery. I heard that the 835 is black as the secondary color and that the DOG is incorrect in specifying grey. What is the latest DOG?

Availability is country-specific. The latest US DOG is post #1 in the thread below.

My PO specified macchiato/grey before the delay was announced and I was forced to change it, FWIW.

I gave up my original April build allocation because I couldn't get the upholstery that I wanted. I really wanted the dark brown leather, but I can't get that through the configurator with the Patagonia Red. I"m going to order black floor mats through the parts dept because the beige mats will be impossible to keep clean.

Please let us know if/when macchiato is confirmed for order, and what the contrast color is confirmed to be.

My SL55 has been sitting at the Baltimore port since April. I have read various reports regarding release dates from end of June to end of summer. I don't need a convertible at the end of the summer and especially since the car has been sitting for several months at a port. In addition, my dealer in NJ will probably have a $25k premium but, since I am a long time and frequent buyer of AMGs, it would be $10k. Since I will be taking delivery on a new Turbo S coupe next week and paid MSRP, I will pass on the SL. I have been very loyal to Mercedes and AMG starting with my first Mercedes which was a 1999 E55 AMG. But this treatment of their customers and still not knowing a price, was the final straw!

Just looked at the DOG again. It shows the dash color as black which my dealer says is a mistake because that would be two accent colors of black and grey. That was why I said the accent color was black and not grey. I've seen no update on the details.
