SL/R232: Waze HUD

Waze HUD
Until this week, the HUD showed the car’s factory nav directions and Waze nav directions. Now when I use Waze only the checkered flag appears in the HUD but no other info regarding ETA, current street, distance and direction of next turn. I tried rebooting my Samsung phone, but no change. Anyone else experiencing this issue with Waze and HUD (fyi Android auto is fine on the center large display)?

I'm not sure if Android Auto, Waze, the SL, or my phone had an update, but today - Waze started to work again on the HUD. While it was absent, I used the factory Nav and Google Maps both of which worked well with the HUD. Prior to the glitch, I was not a big user of Google Maps in the car. The availability of satellite imagery makes Google Maps look much better on the big center screen. Since Waze is owned by Google, I'm surprised that the Waze maps still look like the old portable Garmin GPS maps. But for the police alerts on Waze, I would use Google Maps as my primary nav app. The SL is going into the shop for the first time on Thursday. A piece of the plastic trim on the side of the driver's seat keeps separating whenever I get out of the car.

Neither Google Maps NOR Waze are seen in the HUD when using an iPhone, although it just occurred to me that Apple Maps might. Can anybody either confirm or refute that? Thanks.
