Couple of random questions

1. Does anybody have a clue what the purpose of the Traffic Light View is? I don't find it annoying (like I did with the "Enhanced Video for Navigation") but I can't figure out why anybody needs this.
2. For some reason, my car (a '22 SL55 with a production date of 11/22) does not have the badging that says Biturbo V8 under the side "vents." Does anyone know if this was a delete option? I think the car I purchased new was a factory order by a customer who then couldn't take delivery.

Thanks

I don't know why one would want to see the traffic light view either. I never saw a use for it. I don't know why the badging is not there on your car. I doubt it was a delete option - but don't really know🤔

In Europe, most traffic lights are barely visible when you stop right in front of them in the SL, so the traffic light view is very helpful to see the switching from red to green, so you don't have to strain your neck by trying to look around the rear view mirror.

It is a feature also in the USA. I can see how it makes sense in Europe

I find the traffic light view is useful maybe 20% of time when I'm first in line at a stoplight and I don't want to strain my neck to see when it changes to green (I'm in the US). The other 80% of the time I just swipe it away but it doesn't bother me to do that in exchange for the convenience when it's useful.

I found a picture of my car as it was being prepped for delivery and the badging was there. Photos taken one month later shows them missing. The only conclusion I can draw is that the dealership somehow damaged at least one of the badges during prep and just removed them, assuming I wouldn't notice. And I didn't until recently. This is the same dealership that never removed the transport plugs from the suspension prior to delivery.

Lame.

Sorry that this happened, may I ask a favor of you? I have been considering removing my badges and had assumed that they were just stickers. By your reaction, this tells me that there are no holes in the body (to position the "vents"), yes?
Would you mind posting a couple pictures of your car (ventless)?

While I REALLY like the darkened badging, I only left the Merc star on my rear deck lid, I removed the AMG as well as the SL63 - I have been removing badges for decades, I prefer the cleaner look. I have also been contemplating removing the V8 BiTurbo $matic+ badge and the "vent" as well . . . Might leave the vent to break up the lines a bit, haven't really decided, thanks! KH

Will do when I get home later tonight or tomorrow morning. There are no holes for the badging, not sure about the vent.

Thank you
ZERO urgency, just took a closer look at the "vent", it looks like the sheet metal has an indentation, so removing the vent sticker, likely doesn't make sense - Much appreciated, KH

Sans badging. The vents were always there.

I think I spoke too soon in assigning fault to the dealer. I remembered that shortly after purchase I had PPF and ceramic coating installed. Far more likely they removed the badging and never put it back on.

Beautiful, thank you for the pictures

I like the debadged look, might have to do this over the weekend! KH

I am considering subduing a lot of my badging. I just haven’t decided how yet. The options range from black sharpie, to black enamel paint.
