They contacted me to change something on the wet clutch, they ordered the part and they are going to change it next week. They also have to do some adaptation to the gearbox (I didn't quite understand the things they told me were wrong). Regarding the Mercedes Me, they didn't say much and they are waiting to see if they can do a retrofit. I don't know if that has to do with the problem of the fingerprint not working (despite being a basic factory part), not being able to create profiles, the car alarm not working... I'll keep you informed.

Is Consumer Reports wrong about MB reliability???? Is JD Power wrong??? $200K car buyers deserve better.........the $4K "rebate" is a joke. They sold defective cars for beta testing.

I had every intention of buying a SL63e S.........I'm elated I held off on an order.

Do you mind posting the work order so we can decipher?

The car has already been delivered to the dealer for repairs. I don't know how long it will take and when they will start replacing the necessary part. I will keep you informed and will publish the worksheet when they give it to me.

My goodness another MB transmission horror story … MB needs to let ZF produce their gearboxes -

I'm still waiting, the car was supposed to be ready last week but they told me that they also have to change a gasket and they don't have it available, they had to order it and it should have arrived already, I don't have any more information.

They replaced the part in the clutch that they thought was the problem but the problem is still the same, so they replaced a part that had nothing to do with it. Now I'm waiting to see what they do next, it's Friday so I won't hear back until next week. 🤡🤡🤡

They have ordered another part, which will arrive in 4 days and will be installed next week, it is the electrohydraulic plate according to them... Since they have to remove the oil and everything else, they told me that I will have to take care of the oil change and all the necessary costs xddd

I'm tired of all this... I'll update the thread again when I have the car up and running... we're already on our 3rd week on the mercedes dealer and no progress has been made. (not counting the time before taking it to the dealer when they were doing diagnostics, waiting for answers...) Summer is coming to an end and I haven't been able to travel

The dealer is charging you for an oil change and additional necessary costs????? Is it April fool's day??? Perhaps you should pay for storage fees also???

I see you/re in Romania, (I can only imagine how much this car cost you in USD's) maybe mb Romania does things differently there, but that would never fly here.

I'm going to pick up the car today (in about 4 hours), they say it's fixed, the problem was the converter and the electrohydraulic plate.
The problem with Mercedes is that they tell me they can't do anything since the car was destined for the market of another country where Mercedes Me is not compatible.

I can say that after more than a month the car has been fixed, it works well, even in sport mode I can now drive around the city without problems. It's a shame about the Mercedes app, but I will try to go to other garages to see if they can do something. The cost of the warranty repair was approximately €5,000.
What does worry me is that this same part that they fixed now, was already replaced before, and this is the second time it has broken, I hope nothing happens to me...
Driving now feels very different, it feels like a different car, the accelerator responds almost instantly. Thank you all for reading the thread and giving me your advice. 🙏

Man what a story! The quality of cars nowadays just isn't the same anymore. I'm glad it's fixed and you can finally enjoy it. My question is, CAN you still enjoy it after all this nonsense? Be safe and take care.

S class sales down 37% while 7 series sales are up 11%. This seems to correlate with reliability ratings. I would guess that SL sales are also in decline. The SL was an icon.

How incompetent is management???

Like I've stated before, my perfect garage would consist of an S and SL. Until MB gets it together it''s not happening.

I think I still have some problems, can someone who has the car tell me if they also have the following problems:

- When I come back from driving and want to put it in R (SPORT MODE i donīt try yet in confort) to park on a slightly steep slope, where the car has to use a bit of force to go up, the car doesn't move, I try to accelerate it but it takes a while to engage the gears, you can hear the engine revving but it doesn't engage the gear to go backwards. Is this normal or should I take it in for a check-up?

Yeah, as I pointed out a couple of times in my earlier posts, parking on a slope is a bit tricky with these cars due to the clutch. You have to give it enough throttle for the clutch to start engaging and go uphill. Use the Hill Start Assist or engage the parking brake, then once you give it enough throttle the brakes/parking brake release and it moves.
