A record for recall updates in a single visit?
The tale I am about to tell will sound unbelievable, but it is totally true ( scout's honor).
I have a 2022 SL63 and we live half the year in DC and the other half in Florida, and this car is kept in our home in DC.
I had not kept track of recalls/updates and when I was here for a short visit in March I went to visit my dealership to find out if there were any.
There were quite a few, but according to the MB system they all had been performed on my car - say what? - by a dealership on the west coast of Florida.
Luckily, my car and I are well known at this dealership and the service manager took charge of the matter himself.
And yes indeed a dealership in Florida had claimed to have taken care of all these recalls on an SL with the same Vin number.
Forget for a moment that this really does sound fishy, it of course meant that none of these recall updates would be available to me.
To cut a long story short, the MB area reps in Florida and in DC got involved and somewhat cleared the record for my car and yesterday I had all 7 updates performed in one go, and knock on wood the car sounds and drives fantastic.
1) # 2024020012 Engine Control Unit Software
2) # 2023120019 Headlamp screw update
3) # 2023050003 Tricklecharger - got a new one ( I had one permanently installed a year ago)
4) # 2023100010 Update Rear Spoiler scan coding/ software
5) # 2023100014 Starter/Alternator wiring harness - no problem found
6) #202404004 update SCN Coding EIS ( no clue what this is)
7) # 2023070012 Fuel pump recall - fuel pump replaced
I am keeping my fingers crossed that with all these items updated/upgrded, it will also improve the recurring sage of ( low starter battery) - hope spring eternal lol!
The weather in DC is glorious in the moment, and I am enjoying this car to the fullest!!!

I am not at all certain as to what happened here, but what is really astonishing is that the records indicated that a 2022 SL with the same Vin number received all these updates/recalls. How in the world would the dealer in Florida get those numbers and details?

That's the thing - I have never been a customer of that dealership in Florida, as a matter of fact my car has never left Washington DC.
My car has been serviced since new by the same dealership in DC,.
How can a dealer in Florida claim they did these services on car with my exact Vin number - maybe I just don't get it. lol
