MBUSA MBFS are clueless
I'm sure others will receive a similar email, but be on the lookout for a $4000 voucher from MB. The email acknowledges that many of us have had issues with our SLs. In exchange for completing all open recalls and campaigns, we will receive a $4000 voucher to be applied against a list of MB products, financing or lease payment, or purchase of a new vehicle.

I called my service advisor and he told me my $4,000 voucher was listed on my account even though I never received an email or postcard. I will let this group know what happens when I try to use it on my upcoming service visit. I am thinking about using it toward an extended warranty. I would appreciate any information or advice on Mercedes extended warranties.

2023 SL63 + 2021 Cayenne e-hybrid
Took my car in on 7/10 and MB kept the car for 3 days for the multitude of SW recalls (no recalls showed on MBusa.com); I just contacted the number on the flier (figured I would wait for all the SW hacks and processing to take place) and was just informed that there are two additional recalls that weren't completed on the 7/10 visit. Additionally, the automated menu said that my car might be affected by a "rear axel stop drive" recall and that I should call a different number. Just hit up my service advisor and let's see what happens . . . KH

SL63 AMG
My car has been at the dealer for the last week undergoing every recall fix in the system and also getting subwoofer replaced for the Burmester system. I'm picking it up tomorrow and will hunt down a Finance person to see if I can get this voucher cashed in.

Yesterday, I picked up my car from the dealership. All of the recalls were performed (fuel pump and recheck the 12V ground). The service advisor told me that the service manager, the sales manager, and the finance person were working together to update the system with the completion of the open campaigns. They are working to have the $4k voucher credited against my MB loan. I was told that the dealership knew about the voucher and they will confirm when it is processed. I am out of town for the next couple of days. Fingers crossed that I will get good news in the next few days.

I pinged my service advisor earlier today about the status of the $4k voucher. He was told that there were some complications applying it against my loan with MB Finance, so the dealership will cut me a check in 3-4 weeks. I'll believe it when I see it, but so far I wasn't stonewalled or ping ponged between the dealership and MBUSA.

Quick update:
There is a E450 wagon I wanted to go take a look at (dog car) and created a great excuse to stop by to see my Service Advisor (Jim Duffer, San Jose). He was a great help:
-Mentioned that this might be treated as a warrantee transaction
-Took a copy of the hardcopy voucher
-I just sent a copy of my registration, latest Mercedes Benz Financial statement, sales contract and my SL's mileage
He thought that once processed, the dealership would cut me a $4k check, stand by . . . KH
2 hours later . . .
Just got a note that my records were reviewed and approved, he's sending to warranties and saying that they will cut me a check - Will update shortly, KH

I don’t know why, but I am really resentful of this thread. I keep hoping it will die a quick and natural death. I think at least part of it is that this voucher promo seems quite scammy for MB. I can’t quite put my finger on it.

I at least think MB should offer more for the SL 63 customers compared to the SL 43 customers. Same goes with SL 55, should be more than SL 43 but less than SL 63.

jjj Benz I’m curious to how you went about the process all I’ve been getting for a month is call MB Financial then they tell me to call the dealer to make sure it’s “in the system” then dealer tells me to call MB Financial again. Nothing has been resolved I’m curious how long it took to apply to your lease payments and what steps did you take. Thanks in advance!

You will need to give the dealership:
copy of your contract
copy of your voucher
They will submit in the warranty system in service a damage code claim as well as your copies of documents
The dealer will need to contact their SOM sales ops manager from MBUSA to approve the warranty claim. Once they receive the money, their accounting department will wire the funds directly to MBFS on your account. The dealership has been provided these instructions in detail. Do not call MBFS- they do not have anything to do with giving out the vouchers- it comes from MBUSA. Hope that helps.

The process took longer than I would have expected and I did follow up with my SA a couple weeks ago, this just arrived in the mail last night
Folks will say that this is not enough (you get to have your opinion), just reporting back that Mercedes came through with what they said they would do (rebate), best of luck to others-- KH

I received my $4000 voucher as a credit to my lease payments.
I took my voucher as a credit against my lease payments. It was easy enough to do with a few simple steps given to me by my service advisor. She was very helpful. And the $4000 does indeed show up as a credit on my billing statement.
