SL/R232: Loose steering, tire pressure?

Loose steering, tire pressure?
I just bought a CPO 2022 SL63 today, and I found the steering to be a bit loose, as it tracked the road a bit too much, and had 1/8-1/4” of play with no impact to steering.
The tires were around 32 psi. Would higher work better? What pressure do you all use?
Has anyone found a way to tighten the steering?
PS other than that, wow I love this car

My tires were initially at 32psi or so. But when the summer ended, I got a tire pressure message on the dash display. I had them topped off at top of spec, around 45psi. I didn’t see any difference in ride or performance yet.
As for the steering wheel. I don’t have any play in it. It seems to me that the play you are noticing is not normal.

Thanks for confirming my worry, That's what I assumed. I remember sitting in a different one when the power was off, and moving the steering wheel either direction required real work. It was tight and springy.
In this car, I can put the _slightest_ pressure in either direction and I get 1/8" of travel at the perimeter.
