SL/R232: Intrusive Thoughts Won

I’ve given up on driving my nice cars up when I come north. My daily is a half ton pickup truck so at least if they hit that they’ll have more damage on their car.
And if anny of you anre ever in Duluth, MN and staying at the Sheraton, bubble wrap the crap out of your car.

Car came back from body shop with foggy headlights as above. Appointment made and dropped off car some 2 weeks ago. The front spoiler was no longer deploying after repairs so had them look at that. I also discovered that towing company damaged the crap out of my rear wheels.
The headlight issue couldn’t be replicated I’m told. The front spoiler was missing some bolts and was half deploying which is why it wasn’t indicating right on my cluster. Fixed. The wheels….thats another headache. They are waiting on Mercedes roadside to authorize the replacement because they are not repairable. They quoted me $1250 per wheel out of pocket so I’m not keen on paying that especially since I was planning to get the 21”s eventually.
Paid for the car 2 months ago to the day and kept it all 5 business days 🫠
This did fail me in my GT 53. I parked on an end spot with the curb to my passenger side. The problem with that curb is it was a curb that split the parking lot essentially with a curb and little patch of grass. After parking and looking to the right you can't see it. When I got in the car I totally forgot about the curb and ran my front driver tire right into the damn curb. Scratch my rim and tore a piece of my tire. These are brand new 22" aftermarket wheels not even 6mos old. The first week I had them Mercedes dealer scratched one of my rims!!! They were honest and repaired it.
I digress... sorry this happened to you. This car is too nice to park next to idiots.

I don’t want to leave my car in the garage.
But I don’t want to take it out, park it somewhere, and get dinged literally for my efforts.
I might have failed to edit my post you quoted.
I meant to say that if my curb side door or panels get dinged or otherwise damaged, it will be because the idiot in question had to jump a curb, at a minimum to get there.
So hopefully HIS car gets more damaged than mine.
Before I got side tracked I was going to say I love the color combo. Beautiful interior color. I think I'm gonna regret Macchiato Beige/Grey it's damn near white. I already purchased a portable carpet shampooer.
At least the person who hit your car was honest. Most would have just drove off.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG

I’ve put a little over 2,000 miles since bought in April. That’s with missing 2 months while it was getting patched up. Am I crazy for looking at winter tires? Not for a blizzard but for the odd sunny weekend drive at -10 degrees!

I say life is too short to drive boring cars. Enjoy it all year round it is!
Do tell me about the leather interior. The only reason I haven't pulled the trigger on a 992 GTS is because for $2000K you have to love it and I haven't been able to find what I want without that awful plastic dash. And then P car guys will say that's not what the car is about bla bla bla, but at that price point I want leather! So back to your interior, what is that option called? I'm jumping ship from 992 to this new SL and the sound it makes, but again all I see is that mbtex or whatever the vinyl seats are.. Or are they all leather just one is better than the other?
In my G63 I have DB3 "Exclusive Interior Package Plus", I'm assuming your SL has the same. What is that package called on the R232 SL's?

I’ve been very happy with the interior quality. Stitched leather for days and everything feels nice from the paddle shifters to glove compartment. Let me know if you have any other questions. I cross shopped this ride a fair bit with the 992.
