I am loving my 2022 SL 63. I use it for my daily driver and was just trying to make the most of the limited space available in the cabin. I have seen a lot of cool 3D printed organizers for the center console of many cars, but nothing for our sweet R232 body style. Thought I might reach out to this forum to see if anyone has seen it or completed it.
I see two obvious areas for improvement. Without any organization, the tiny center console can be tough to find things put inside. I was thinking of designing a place for basic phone charging cables, mailbox keys, or access cards. Perhaps a two level step up design to make room for these things without getting in the way of the USB charging ports. Would be nice to have a nice cubby for sunscreen and other top down essentials.
The other one is the little hole in front of the cup holders. Yes, this is supposed to be a place to charge your phone, but there is a problem with that. When I place my phone down there for a charge it gets overheated (there is no A/C circulation in there), especially if I have android auto running at the same time. So, I was going to see if I could 3D print a little spring loaded hidden storage area to hold a few bills for tipping or perhaps napkins. I thinking black with red trim to match my interior.
Thoughts? Suggestions (constructive ones, I mean)?
