1981 380 SL Chassis Service Manual
Do any of you know of a source for a Factory Service Manual for a 1981 380SL? All I can find are manuals on CD but I want a book, something I can keep on the fender while I fix the thing. Thanks

I thought I wanted a manual as well but they were unavailable new so I bought the cd. Well, I can tell you now, that I think I like the cd better. Search the cd for the specific job at hand and PRINT. Voila! Working copy in hand that you can get all filthed up ....no worries. When you are done...throw it out. As I have a 280sl I needed the manual for the powerplant as well and got that one from MB in paper form for 60$ CDN. It is already full of fingerprints and dog eared pages. The cd cost me 150$ CDN .

So I should be able to go up to my local dealer and order one?? 60$ cdn isnt that bad. Id still rather have the book. CD's get scratched, printers break and need ink cartridges, etc. If the book gets dirty or a bent page, its not like I have to take it back to the library or something. Do you happen to know the P/N for the book?

The 60$ CDN was strictly for the M110 engine manual. I do not think that is what you are after. If you are determined to have the R107 chassis manual for your 380sl, I have seen them on e-bay often and they vary considerably in price. Good luck.

Any web page where I could purchase the paper powerplant manual ? I´m living in Spain and the local MB dealer don´t like DYers.

MARINO the Manual
Ok Marino, apparantly my dealer can get the manual for the M110. It is around $60 cdn how much is shipping to Spain?? Anyones guess. The manual is a monster. I also purchased a Haynes and Chilton manual. They are not perfect but do have some good knowledge. The part numbers are as follows:

I've just ordered an original 500SL CD for ebay.co.uk for £15. Not recieved it yet but it apparently covers all the V8 107s. There's some very cheap ones aswell for a couple of quid which I expect will be pirated copys of the original.
