I am seriously thinking about cleaning up the rear-end of my 560...
What do you guys think? Yeah, I know... badge is on wrong side. Tell it to the MB shop who repainted several years ago (I have been told that when a MB approved shop repaints, they move badge to other side... probably urban legend).

debadging does clean up the rear, but others might assume you had a "small engine" SL and are trying to hide it. I’d just leave it on… We have a 350sl, which would make you think it was a 3.5 L engine, when in fact it has a 4.5L (its a 1972 and apparently the first US 450sl's (72 only) were badged 350sl, we also have the small euro bumpers). I have considered putting a 450sl badge on it, which I actually have; Mercedes sent one to my father in 1973. hmm, my comment about our SL seems so random and unrelated.... oh well... its late...

I like the new look...very clean and classy. The SL is probably the only MB I like in red...mucho gusto.

Ditto on US bumper regulations.
