Smile Front seal replacement

Hi All - new member here. Have a 76 450 SLC (117k and a daily driver) Front seal has started to leak. Not a lot of room to work down there - how hard is it to change the seal out - I don't have a hoist.

Any tips would be great. John.

Surprised no one has commented on this. Not much info in this forum on technical.
I have not replaced seals on this type, however with other small, tightly packed cars the engine needed to be pulled.
If it is a slight leak then you could live with it, even though it is frustrating, until the time comes when you had enough and the pull the engine.

Thanks for the heads up - I kind of suspected it was a motor out deal. Just back from a trip from Tucson (home) to Durango CO and back - curiously the seal has stopped leaking.

Cheers John.
