MB Service Manuals for Model 107
I loved my 450SL, but it broke my heart once too many times. I morphed it into beautiful E320 ..... w/ a 100k warranty! It will be years before I personally have to work on it. Ergo this thread. I've got my Mercedes Service manuals (hard copy) for chassis, body, & engine, "cheap" to good home.
2 Vol MB Service Manual, Chassis & Body, Model 107, # S6510-1930-13
1 vol MB Service Manual V-8 Engines, M116 (3.5) & M117(4.5), # S6510-1916-13
Plus to blow your nose in, a Haynes generic 350 & 450, '71-'80, 350SL, 450SL, 450SLC, 450SE, 450SEL, etc.
The Haynes is for ballast. The first 3 are the real deal and a lifesaver if you work on your own SL. For $100, I'll mail all 4 (on the continent). I'm recalling this is about 1/2 of what I paid for them new. They're all in excellant shape w/ only minor dirty finger prints bookmarking critical passages. If interested, mharmes@yci.com

Thanks for adding the link. It was hot from this board when I tried. It's not a cure all for specs, but I found it valuable. Particularly if I need to take my '76 to someone not familiar w/ the model. Sharing the manuals helps.

The CD manual I purchased included 560 SL years 86 to 89. PM me if you need anything further. It is very similar to yhe link above. Same info but a little easier to navigate. Great link above!!!

You can subscribe to the Mercedes Parts catalog. http://www.benzworld.org/forums/r-c1...ml#post5345471 Subscription is free to US residents. You need to provide Credit Card to prove residency. During the subscription process it will indicate North American models but it will list other markets too. You can use it to compare parts between US and your model. Many will be the same.
