Need help on Fuel Sender Unit part number.
Hi all, I'm Mo from Bangkok. I just recently acquired a '80 or '81 500 sl (actually two weeks ago) and have a problem with fuel gauge not working. After checked by my mechanic, we found the fuel sender unit needs a replacement. The unit's part number in my car is 107 542 06 04. After I have looked up on many Internet resources, I could not find any information related to this part number. All I found are, 107 542 00 04 / 107 542 04 04 / 107 542 07 04 / and 107 542 08 04.
So my questions are:
1. Is the current unit that I have correct to my car?
2. If it is, where can I get a replacement unit?

Correct fuel gauge?
Thanks to MagCL for your previous help. I found an used sender locally to replace the broken one.
Now someone told me that my fuel gauge is not original for R107 500 sl. Is it true? I have done research and I have seen two types; my current one with 'economy' indicator and another one without it. It makes me confused.
