560SL center armrest
Fellow members
My recently acquired pristine '89 560SL has a collapsed center armrest. Although it pivots up/down just fine, when in the down position it does not stop in horizontal, but ends-up resting against the console in a down-sloping fashion. I am trying to find out how it would normally stop horizontally. Is there a "stopping" mechanism on the seat? On the armrest?
Thank you in advance

There is a bracket inside that is supposed to stop the unit when it is in an approximate level position. I do not know if this stop could be replaced or whether the entire mounting bracket assembly would need to be replaced. I would look it up on EPC-Net, but my subscription expired!! Good luck with this. Try Benzworld while you are at it.
