I'm trying to find out what these cars are going for and what everyone here thinks they are really worth. It's hard to find sales online mostly it is just asking prices but who knows what the sellers are actually getting. The one I'm looking at is an original owner southern california garaged, blue on blue low miles 54k. I know it needs some work for sure like: oil leak, trans leak, diff leak, hoses, belts, all the regular maintenance tune up stuff, door seals, bushings, subframe recall is open... It has not been started in 1-2 years and has not been driven on a regular basis for over 5 years. Thank you for your input.

Just speculation but I just purchased a 42K mile version that was advertised as being original, it wasn't, but needed complete top end engine rebuild, and most of what you have laid out as needs. Does it have the hardtop? Without it deduct several thousand dollars. My guess is $5-6K you are going to spend at least that much to make it road worthy. In perfect condition fully functional it is worth about $20K.

I'm trying to determine the value of my car so I'm sure its insured properly. I am new to the forum and have not been able to locate a single spot for this info, although I am certain there is one.....so I thought I'd respond to this one. I have a 1989 560SL white exterior conv/hardtop with gray interior. A++ (as in spotless, and I use that word carefully) condition with 50,000 miles. It does have what appears to be an original backset in it??. Looking for a ballpark? Maybe a credible source that could evaluate it in my area?? Thank you!

These cars can get pricy fast of they need alot of work. I know this well. I'm on my second one. Currently own an early 1973 450SL. Only 80k on her but currently at about 3k in repairs and upgrades. Purchased in running condition. No leaks original owner for 4200.
