Hi, just got a 1981 380sl and need help with interior color code. I want to restore car to original - when ever possible. 1981 380sl vin is WDBBA45A7BB003322 . Exterior is 473 which I believe is champagne. My data card says 30.Ausstatt 233. Is that the interior code? If so I can’t find that code. Thanks!

I ran that VIN through a couple of decoders. Came back invalid number on both. Check that you have it correct.

Hi Myway, I double checked the vin (at the car, on title and on data card). It is WDBBA45A7BB003322. I know car was bought new in Tennessee, my uncle bought it used in 1990 and move it to Michigan and it was given to my parents in early 2000’s and brought to Florida. They just gave it to me. I appreciate you trying to run it through decoders for me. If not listed what does that mean? Can the local Mercedes dealer help me at all? Thanks again.

Local dealer can't hurt. Checked 233 and found it listed as Brazil color. That would fit with the exterior color.
