Been having trouble with the 1986 560sl hardtop rear lock After inspecting the cable it just doesn’t seem to pull enough to hold the latch open to remove the top. That center rear Mount. I see the cable. I was going to try and adjust some how Anyone have this issue before ? I chipped the dam paint all up last two times installing and removing the hard top. Maybe I should find a friend because this off and on by myself is getting old. Or I am. Has anyone just replaced cable or is it adjustable ? Before I do anymore hands on adjustments

That 33-year-old cable just might be stretched enough that it won't hold the latch open. Might be time to replace it.
