Hi, I have bought a 1998 SLK for my wife, 30K miles. I took it into the dealer and he identified a problem with the charging system. After replacing alternator and regulator, still no charge, he replaced the crash module, still no charge, but charge is available if module is bypassed (the original alternator and regulator are fine). I understand this module is supposed to disable alternator and starter in event of a crash. It is possible previous owner defeated starter override. Any ides? Thanks.
