Red face R107 convetrible question

Hi Everyone,

I am new to this forum, but not to my 74 450SL that I purchased privately in 2001. I am currently working on the body and trim after spending considerable time on the engine and suspension. The top was installed by the previous owner, but not very well. Both he and I have kept the car garaged with the top retracted. It is an aftermarket vinyl coated canvas unit in excellent condition. The only problem is that he did not reuse the steel cables that attach to the front of the convertible carriage, and this left a few wrinkles in the top. I purchased a new set of cables, but have not installed them. I contacted several local companies that work on convertible tops, but have not been able to get them to commit on an appointment to fix the wrinkles. I suspect they would want to replace the entire top which would be a huge waste of money for me. Does anyone here have advice on where I could obtain new screws and cup washers to attache the cables to the carriage? I have seen a Youtube on how to do this, but do not have the parts.

Screws are either 000966 004003 or 000966 004016, the parts list shows both. The washer is 900056 00402.
Check with Mercedes, they still have many parts for these cars and these parts were used all the way until 1989.
