1987 Cruise Control

Hello Folks. New member here. Just picked up my 1987 560sl. Beautiful great car. When I set the cruise it engages and maintains speed so it kind of works. What it does is pulse constantly to maintain speed but it does maintain. From what I can see there is an ECM for the cruise and an Actuator. Which makes most sense to replace. Or are there vac lines like on the old GM cars and I just need to search the vac lines. Any help would be appreciated. Thx Dave

1985 380SL
The cruise control on these cars is not the best, most everybody I know says the speed control is not smooth especially on a level road. Mine (1985 380SL) is the same, not too bad but sometimes annoying. It is electro-mechanical, no vacuum is involved. The only diagnostic info available requires a Mercedes special tool. You can get rebuilt control modules and new actuators, but they are expensive.
