Garage Lifts
Does anyone have any experience with garage lifts? I need one and was interested in any of your experiences and recommendations. Thanks.

Garage lift - 4 post or twin post?
I have a picture of mine at home which I can post later. I have a four post and it's great for parking, changing oil, getting access to underneath the car. The problem is if you want to rotate tires, brake jobs, anything requiring wheel removal... since the car sits on the tires you need to jack the car up and use jackstands similar to if it was on the ground only now place the stands between the car and the ramp.
I bought a perfect park from lifts unlimited. I like it as I was able to order extra long and wide. Figured I could park a large SUV on it if I want to and place a ski boat underneath it. Can get nice options like 220V hydraulic motor and nice aluminum diamond plate on the ramps, oil drip pans (not a bad idea- so the upper car doesn't drip on the lower car -especially if storing a classic up top as old cars tend to leak!)
If you want a lift to really service your car a twin post maybe better for general parking the four post is the way to go. A four post is what you see in a muffler shop and a twin post is what you see in the service bay at the dealer.
Let me know if you want more info. Did a fair amount of research. There a quite a few offerings out there but found mine to be good quality and only about $4K.

I have an Eagle Equipment scissor lift. Works great for any and all work that I do on my cars - change track wheels/tires, brake work, oil changes, exhaust work. Anything more heavy duty than those, my shop gets the car.

Thanks so much for your posts. I have seen so many good things about liftsunlimited that I will probably go this root. Thanks again.

Pics of my lift...
Attached are a couple of pics of the Lifts Unlimited lift when I first installed it. I think you'll be happy with it.
