SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: Extend the warranty or not?

Extend the warranty or not?
I got a call from my dealer today. It was an invitation to buy the Mercedes extended warranty, which would take me from 4 years/50,000 miles up to 7 years and 100K miles. The price is $4700. I figure that I'll probably sell the car before the warranty runs out, so the question is, "Would the warranty add $5000 to the value of a 2 or 3-year-old SL55?"
I'm thinking no. By that time, $5K will be a bit less than 10% of the value of the car. But, knowing the potential cost of SL repairs and especially AMG engine repairs, maybe I'm wrong.
What do you folks think?

i purchased the extended warranty for my CLK55 after learning the cost of replacing COMAND -- which i experienced twice -- was at least twice the entire warranty cost.
if it's even minimally possible that you may keep the car beyond the basic warranty terms, then you'd do well to get the extension, which may be available for less than the additional 3 years and 50,000 miles.
while it may not add to the value of the car above the prevailing numbers at the time of disposal, the warranty certainly would prevent unanticipated costs associated with preparation for disposal.
