SL55 in Encino, CA was a FAKE
The SL55 I saw sometime last week had mercedes of Calabasis plates on its. So this afternoon i went to the dealership and told them that I saw an SL55 last week and that im interested in one. The guy said, "impossible, their are no SL55 in california". I told him I saw on last week, then he asked "was it silver", I said yeah. He says their is a CEO of a record company in Calabasis, and he bought an SL500 took the SL500 sign off and put the SL55 and the V8 kompressor signs on his car, and put the multispoke rims on. The dealer also told that the CEO likes buying the lower end models and rebadging them. The dealer told me the guy also has a S430 and put the S600 and the V12 sign.
The dealer said the SL55 will be out by the end of next month, and that the price would be around 120-125K with 50k mark up.
They have a red SL500 sport at around sticker if anybodys interested.

Phat, that is interesting. I was at Calabasas Mercedes at the end of March when they delivered a REAL US SPEC SL55 to a "VIP Customer". I saw the engine and everything. SL55 all the way. I even checked the VIN and it was a US VIN.

My friends boss has a b lack SL55, could not believe it until I saw it in person. It was the real deal. How he got it you ask... He owns two Dodge Dealerships so I think he is connected in the car business:p
